The substance Slimes and Sludges, zinc sulfate electrolytic is a UVCB (origin: inorganic)
Public name: lead manganese cellmud
|EC name:||Slimes and Sludges, zinc sulfate electrolytic|
|CAS number (EC inventory):||69012-43-7|
|IUPAC name:||Product resulting from cleaning anodes and electrolyzing cells in an electrolytic zinc plant, with zinc sulfate. Consists primarily of manganese oxide, lead sulfate and calcium sulfate.|
|Description:||During the Zinc electrolysis, insoluble oxy-sulphates (i.e. Lead- & calcium-sulphate and Manganese di-oxide) can be formed at the Lead-anode surface ; part of it falls down in the cells another part sticks to the Lead-anode surface and is separated during the anode-cleaning steps
The Pb.Mn.cellmud is regularly collected from the bottom of the cells and from the anode-cleaning devices, is washed and filtered.
