Industry launches standard to communicate exposure scenario data

A standard system to exchange data communicating REACH exposure scenarios in the form of extended safety data sheets is available from the European Chemical Industry Council (Cefic). ESComXML has been jointly developed by the industry associations Cefic, the Downstream Users of Chemicals Coordination (DUCC) group, the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC) and the Federation of German Industries’ (BDI) European Phrase Catalogue (Euphrac) working in collaboration with the European Chemicals Agency and software providers.

By using the standard companies will be able to transmit exposure scenario data through the supply chain in a consistent and seamless way with other users of the standard, Cefic says.
